Microneedling FAQ
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles to induce collagen production for skin rejuvenation.
The small wounds caused by the needles trigger the body’s healing response, promoting collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture, and reducing scars and fine lines.
A topical anesthetic is usually applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort, but patients may still feel a slight prickling sensation.
Results can be long-lasting, but maintenance treatments are recommended to sustain skin improvements.
Common areas include the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, but it can be used on most areas of the body.
Short-term side effects include redness, swelling, and mild discomfort. Infection, scarring, and pigment changes are rare but possible.
Generally, adults in good health with concerns about skin texture, scars, fine lines, or wrinkles are suitable candidates. It is not recommended for individuals with certain skin conditions.
