Dermal Fillers

Recapture the beauty of self-confidence. Beauty with care.

Dermal fillers can be used to restore facial volume, shape facial features and soften existing lines, wrinkles and folds. At Clinica we used dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid - a natural substance that we all have in our skin. As we age, we lose bone, fat and skin volume, which leads to the appearance of ageing.

Injections of hyaluronic acid can effectively restore lost volume, and plump and deeply hydrate the skin. We often refer to procedures using dermal fillers as a ‘liquid facelift’ due to their effect of instant rejuvenating, lifting and filling of facial lines. This leads to a more youthful, fresher and smoother appearance of the skin.

Non-surgical rejuvenating treatments are becoming increasingly popular because they are less aggressive and risky than surgery but still can give excellent, life-changing results. Our Cambridgeshire doctors are very experienced and will determine the amount and placement of filler needed for best results during your consultation. This can vary significantly between patients because factors such as gender, ethnicity, age and individual differences in anatomy have to be taken into consideration to achieve the most natural-looking results.

What to expect during your treatment:

At Clinica our doctors will perform a thorough consultation, taking into consideration your medical history, needs and expectations.

We will carefully examine your skin and recommend the best treatments for your skin type and concern. Our doctors are trained in aesthetic medicine experienced in administering dermal fillers. They will ensure that you are fully informed and you have been made aware of all the relevant facts, including potential risks and complications before proceeding with the treatment. During the consultation you will have an opportunity to ask questions, address any concerns and take as much time as you need to decide if the treatment is right for you, even if that means not going ahead with it at all. You can trust our doctors to give you their best and honest clinical opinion and if they do not think the treatment is in your best interest they will tell you about that openly.
Before the procedure we can apply numbing cream to the treated area at your request. Your healthcare professional will clean your skin with a gentle antiseptic solution and administer the injections with a very fine needle. If you don’t like needles we dedicate extra time and effort to make sure that you are comfortable and relaxed.

Your clinician will carefully place the rejuvenating injections using a needle or a microcannula. They may use an ultrasound scan to assess your anatomy, guide the injections and evaluate the results. It is normal to have some redness, swelling and bruising after the procedure. Most people are not bothered by this and are able to continue with they everyday activities, however we would recommend not to plan any important social occasions in the two weeks following the treatment to allow yourself time to recover. You will see the full result in 2 weeks after your procedure. At this point we offer a review, which is free of charge to see how you are getting on with the treatment and if you need any adjustments.
